"When Jim Somers proposed to Alissa Freimark, the event was as memorable for Alissa's kindergarten class as it was for the couple. Jim, a graphic designer, made arrangements with the school prior to his arrival at the end of the school day. Once Alissa was called from the room the children were lined up on the reading rug and asked to hold lettered cards.As he quickly left the room, to hid in the hallway, he explained
"This is a surprise for Ms. Freimark". "
When Alissa returned she was asked to unscramble the message.

Engagement parties, dress fittings and other necessary preliminaries took place in due course.
The wedding ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, N.J. was followed by a reception at the Ridgewood Country Club.
